Victoria Latham, who plans to graduate from TCC in May 2016, works at the Naval Facilities Engineering Command. This is her story, in her own words.
I’m that person who takes things apart, just so I can put them back together. After spending too many years in jobs with no benefits or future, I became an electrician apprentice.
It’s been great learning on the job, and then building on that knowledge with my studies in mechatronics. I’m constantly reviewing my textbooks, sharpening my knowledge base.
Electrical work is like artwork to me. At the end of the day, I look at what I’ve accomplished, and I’m really proud. TCC started me on a career path that will enable me to pursue my dream of becoming an electrical engineer, and I’m really grateful.
